Description
Mt. Falcon open space area is home to a variety of great mountain bike trails for intermediate level riders and up.
The Castle Trail is the most popular in the Mt. Falcon area and features steep climbing with opportunity to visit the scenic ruins of the original Walker Home and Summer White homes, which were once working ranches.
The trails in the Mt. Falcon area meander through open scrub oak, prairie meadow and stands of pine trees. Temperatures on the trail can increase dramatically during warm summer days and it is suggested that riders start early to avoid too much adverse effect from the heat.
The views from the Mt. Falcon trail system are quite good with great panoramas of the Denver area. Due to this trail’s proximity to Denver it is very popular and can become quite crowded during peak hours and weekends.
