Description
The Wild & Scenic Metolius River, a tributary of the Deschutes, drains the dry eastern slopes of the Cascade Range. For many years the Metolius has been better known for its fantastic fishing opportunity, though more recently its whitewater potential has been recognized as well.
The Metolius is an especially unique river, fed by a large underground volcanic aquifer rather than snowmelt, allowing for boatable waters year-round. River flows fluctuates little on the Metolius, as its clear waters tumble through exciting beginner-intermediate level rapids and thick pine forests.
Located 15 miles from Sisters, Oregon, and 1 hour from Bend, the Metolius is rafted as a single day trip.
