Description
Colorado National Monument's Rim Rock Drive is one of the grandest scenic drives in the United States. This 23-mile drive offers redrock canyons, crisp blue skies, and fantastic views along the way. It also provides access to Saddlehorn Visitor Center and campground, many signed viewpoints, and 14 hiking trails.
However, please use caution as you drive along the road and watch out for wildlife, fallen rocks, and other hazards as the road is challenging, narrow and steep in some sections with sheer drop-offs. Be careful when on tight corners and obey posted speed limits. Watch out for bicyclists and share the road with them.
You will want to allow one hour driving time, plus additional time for stopping at viewpoints, walking around, and photography. Don’t forget to bring your camera!
