Since 1971, Colorado River & Trail Expeditions has offered exceptional whitewater rafting vacations. Our Colorado River rafting trips include Grand Canyon rafting, Cataract Canyon rafting in Canyonlands National Park, and Westwater Canyon rafting near Moab, Utah. We also offer Green River rafting trips through Utah's Desolation Canyon. For 280 miles, from Lee's Ferry to Lake Mead, the Colorado River flows, churns, and gouges its way through the depths of Grand Canyon. Along this stretch of Colorado River there are numerous rapids, awe-inspiring vistas, and some of the oldest exposed geological formations on Earth. The Grand Canyon is home to diverse plant and wildlife communities. Because of our commitment to off-river hiking in conjunction with every Grand Canyon rafting expedition, we know our guests see places and do things that most other travelers miss.
Don't let the name "Desolation Canyon," fool you. The only thing desolate about this trip, is the fact that it is far-removed from town and traffic! It's an amazing river trip that anyone and everyone can enjoy, from young children to teenagers to active adults and laid back adventurers. The river flows through a deep, colorful canyon, with dozens of moderate rapids and rifles.
Between Moab, Utah, and Lake Powell, the Green and Colorado Rivers flow through some of the most dramatic canyons in the west. The red rock cliffs, sculpted sandstone formations, and unusual erosian patterns reveal a colorful landscape or fantastic proportions and incredible beauty. Our river trips will take you behind the rocks and into the remote reaches of Canyonlands National Park that are otherwise inaccessible to most visitors. The famous whitewater rapids of Cataract Canyon add an exciting and exhilarating dimension to the overall adventure.
Westwater Canyon is located on the upper Colorado River near the Utah-Colorado border. Known for its rollicking rapids and polished black Pre-Cambrian rock formations, Westwater also offers unique wildlife viewing opportunities, lovely riverside camps and incredible landscapes.
