Description
A popular activity at Chatfield is individual and group camping. Camping permits are required in addition to the parks pass. To ensure everyone a safe and peaceful camping experience, please follow campground regulations. A reservation fee of $10 for all sites is applicable. For more reservation information, or to make a camping reservation, go the Chatfield Reservations page. The newly constructed D-Loop camper services building is now open for the public.
Individual Sites
Four camping areas boast 197 sites. All campsites are surrounded by native grass, are within walking distance to the lake and have picnic tables and grills. Facilities include pull-through or back-in campsites, flush toilets, hot showers, laundry, centrally located water, firewood and a sanitary waste station. One hundred twenty sites have full hookups (w-s-e) located in A, B and D Loops. The remainder 77 sites in Loop B and Loop C have electrical hookups only. Thirty four sites in Loops B and C have detached tent pads. Twelve campsites are accessible to people with disabilities. A specially designed shower attachment also is available on request from the Campground Registration Building.
Camping Permits fees are as follows:
$26.00 per night for full hookups, $22.00 per night for electrical only sites. Aspen Leaf pass holders shall receive reduced camping fees Sunday through Thursday ONLY. Campers Note: The Deer Creek Entrance has a height limitation of 12'6". Camping units taller than this should use the park's Plum Creek Entrance (see map for directions).
Winter Camping
Starting November 1, 2010 the only loop open for camping will be D-Loop (sites 154-197). D-Loop will be on a first- come, first- serve basis. Camping reservations are not accepted during the winter season for these sites. D-loop is a full service camping loop (sewer, electric and centrally located water). The water hookups will be turned off October 15, 2010. The RV dump station will remain open year round for potable water and emptying holding tanks. The winter camping fee will be $20.00 per night plus a daily $8.00 vehicle park pass. D-loop has restrooms, showers and laundry facilities which will remain open through the winter camping season. All loops will reopen for camping April 1, 2011. Reservations for camping at Chatfield may be made up to six months in advance. Group Sites
Group Camping is currently closed for the season. It will re-open April 1 and reservations through the park office will resume the Tuesday following President's Day in February.
Chatfield has 10 group campsites with electrical hookups. There are four electrical pedestals at each group site. Each site accommodates up to 36 people and twelve camping units. No more than 4 units can use the electrical hook-ups. Showers and restrooms are located in the group area. No amplified sound systems, including amplified musical instruments are allowed in the group camping area.
Camping permits for the group loop are $120.00 per night. Plus a daily parks pass for each vehicle entering the park. Group-Loop reservations are made through the park office at 303-791-7275, Monday through Friday 8 am to 4:00 pm, holidays excepted.
Showers
All showers at Chatfield require payment: $0.50 for the first three minutes, $0.25 for each additional minute.

These fees cover the first 50 people in a group. There is an additional fee of $0.50 per person for groups over 50. There is also an $10.00 reservation fee. Reservations can be made beginning January 19, 2010.
Other Fees
Dump station fee: Valid park pass and camping permit for the least expensive campsite that could accommodate their vehicle.
